Ride your bike to Coney Island on a summer's day.
I've been wanting to make another poster using wood type for a while. Moving away from New York has been sinking into my mind a lot lately, so I decided to make something about one of my happiest summertime compulsions while living there; riding my bike to Coney Island. The background is silkscreened and the type was printed on a Vandercook at Uarts. It is a mix of some wood and some lead type...the larger stuff is wood, you can see the grain in there on the larger type! And check out the pretty knocking out details in that smaller seriffed face. Yum.
